Stately black and tan log cabin lap quilt measures 53" x 66".
This quilt is absolutely green, using only quality 100% cotton fabrics, and threads. This batting is bamboo. Three different black fabrics and 3 different tan fabrics make up this classic pattern. Cuddling with this quilt will become your favorite thing to do.
I use only high quality fabrics purchased mainly from local stores in an effort to keep my money with the mom and pop stores and out of the big box stores. Higher quality fabrics mean that patterns are printed straight on the grain of the material, sizing is not used to stiffen the fabrics making them seem as if they are a higher quality. Sizing washes out leaving a limp, wrinkled mess in the lower quality fabrics. Also, high quality fabrics have a higher thread count and tighter weave, giving them a longer life. I pay roughly $10.00 to $11.00 a yard for the fabrics I use, no garbage here.
My quilts are machine warm washed and dried on high heat after completion. This begins the softening process of the fabrics and batting and assures to me that they will withstand washing and drying. This means that regular washing and drying will be fine in your home. Bamboo battings will continue to relax with each washing and tend to make a quilt look more antique, become softer and drape better.
